Cheltenham Liberal Democrats are delighted to announce that former Cheltenham Town F.C. Chairman, and councillor for Charlton Park, Paul Baker, has been elected as constituency chairman for 2019 at this year’s AGM.
Speaking after the AGM, Mr Baker said: “I am delighted to be taking on this challenging and exciting role having stood down as Chairman at CTFC earlier this year after 20 years.
“My sole aim will be to ensure that we give our excellent Parliamentary candidate the support and resources needed to return a Liberal Democrat MP to Westminster.
“The shocking voting record of Alex Chalk on issues such as tax evasion, equality and human rights, higher taxes on banks and our EU membership must be exposed. I love a challenge and am passionate about what we can together achieve.”
Liberal Democrats Parliamentary Candidate for Cheltenham, Max Wilkinson, said: “Paul has served this town as a councillor and as chairman of the Robins for decades, so I’m delighted he is bringing his huge business and campaigning knowledge to our local activities.
"This is a particularly important time to freshen up our local top team, because we could face a general election at any moment. I look forward to working with him to ensure our town gets the representation in parliament it deserves.”
