Mother and Baby

Reopen The Aveta Birth Centre

The Aveta Birth Centre at Cheltenham General Hospital was ‘temporarily’ closed for labour and births long before Max was elected.

The NHS said it had taken the decision to close the unit because of recruitment and retention issues in midwifery - part of a national issue. The local hospitals trust says that recruitment and retention issues are now over.

Now, Max is calling for the full reopening of the Aveta Centre so Cheltenham families once again have the option to pick Cheltenham for the birth of a baby.

Reopen the Aveta Birth Centre

I'm backing Max's campaign to reopen Cheltenham's Aveta Birth Centre for labour and births.
